We had so much fun celebrating Nolan's first birthday on Saturday, May 22, 2010. We rented a bouncy castle for the day & there were about 14 kids & many adults there to enjoy the festivities. We were a bit worried about the weather at first because it rained from about 10:30-noon/12:30. The sky cleared, the sun came out & it ended up being a great day. Just in time for the party to start at 1pm.

Nolan continues to grow before our eyes. He doesn't walk yet, but does plenty of walking along furniture & crawls everywhere, over everything, up furniture & up the stairs. He has the best smile (which shows off his 7 teeth), the greatest laugh & waves all the time. He has already had 2 ear infections & we dealt with his first puking/pooping flu the last week of April which lasted about 5 days. We continue to deal with his eczema by seeing a dermatologist & using lots of lotion (mostly vanicream), prescription hydrocortisone cream & oral anti itch medication. His skin is mostly clear with a few itchy patches, but is mostly under control. The best news of all is that he is finally helmet free. We had his last doctor appointment on May 12 & he no longer needs to wear it......YEAH! We were hoping for it to be off before his 1st birthday & before the summer heat & our wish came true.

Nolan loves to swing & is learning to eat "big people" food, but still prefers the taste of his baby fruits & vegetables (he hates the baby food meat). I did discover that he loves my tator tot casserole, but so far is not crazy for broccoli, cauliflour or the texture of pears. He also loves bananas, peas, kix, cheerios, bread & is learning to drink whole milk which is a bit different than the soy formula he has been drinking.

We will have his 1 year check up on June 11 & will be able to find out how much he has grown in the past 3 months.
