Finally ready to leave the hospital
Just in case Alaina decided not to make her debut into the world on her own, my doctor scheduled me to be induced Wednesday, July 27. Randall & I arrived at the hospital Wednesday morning at 7am, my doctor broke my water at 7:30am and, as they say, the rest is history. My contractions began about an hour later, slow at first, then becoming strong & unbearable by 9:30am. I received my epidural just in time for some relief & by 11:40am, she was born. There to welcome her into the world was of course, my wonderful husband & also my mom. My mom decided she would love the experience of seeing one of her grandchildren being born & arrived at the hospital just in time. I was expecting a much longer labor & delivery since Mikayla took 17 hours & Nolan took 14 hours, but Alaina surprised us all & arrived in 4 short hours. Mom & baby are both healthy & happy & excited to be home! Randall & I are very thankful to both our moms (Grandma Carol & Grandma Rita), who were able to stay a few days & help take care of Mikayla & Nolan. Thank you for all your help!
