Alaina

Alaina at 6 months old enjoying some exersaucer fun & bumbo seat time

getting a kiss from big brother Nolan
Alaina had to get a cranial helmet, just like Nolan did. Already at her 1 week check-up, I noticed the back of her head seemed flat & we were hoping it would get better with time, but it continued to stay flat.  They don't schedule head scans for babies until they're 4 months old, so we had to wait.  Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time to hear from the insurance company as well, so therefore she didn't actually get her helmet until February 7th. For those of you wondering, it costs approximately $3500 for this, so we are lucky the insurance company covers most of the cost. And, I was able to pick out a cute pink helmet with a butterfly design. She does great with it on & it doesn't seem to bother her.  We are hopeful she will get it off in June/July (just in time for her 1st birthday).

Nolan & Mikayla taking turns feeding Alaina

Time seems to fly with 3 kids in the house & a daycare running daily.  Thus, why my blog hasn't been updated in about 6 months.  But I wanted to let everyone know that Alaina is doing great.  She has had no further seizures since her episode in December.  Except for a slight cold & ear infection over the winter, she has been a happy & healthy baby girl!  At 10 1/2 months old, she still has no baby teeth, but is crawling around everywhere, standing up, walking along furniture, waving bye-bye, & getting into everything she can reach & trying to put everything in her mouth.

Sesame Street Live

On Thursday, January 12th, we were lucky enough to get free tickets to the Sesame Street Live show at the Target Center.  I thought it was a great show & the kids loved it too!

Mikayla & Daddy enjoying the waterslides at the Mt. Olympus indoor waterpark

Unlike his sister, Nolan is still very timid at pools & waterparks,
so it's progress just getting him to splash around waist deep.
