In the afternoon, we drove to Welch, MN where some of our friends live. It's about an hour & 15-30 minute drive to the Nowak home, where the Nowak's & Isensee's host a great party each year. The festivities began around 4pm & Mikayla spent the better part of 4 hours running around the bouncy castle with some short breaks for food & drinks. They have a band, a garage full of food & a canoe full of ice & drinks. The past couple of years the weather has been great & the band, KadiWompus, has been able to play well into the night. We usually spend the night, but with Nolan being so young we decided to drive home & left around 9pm. I'm not sure how the party ended & if the band was able to keep playing, but we drove through a downpour on our way home. At one point I was driving only about 30 mph & could barely see the road. Luckily, the kids were sleeping peacefully in the backseat & it eventually stopped raining as we drove closer to Belle Plaine.
